Fantasy Coursing update

Kyle Mozart & children

With the 240 points earned at Clonmel last Monday our new leaders in the Sporting Press Fantasy Coursing competition are Ian Bourke from Oola and Michael McMahon from Ballybunion who has two selections with the highest score of 805 points. In fairness anyone who can pick the winners of both Champion Stakes in September deserves a prize. Michael has another team in fourth place (800 points) and interestingly that team includes a dog in his own kennel, Domain King, which ran so well against Kyle Mozart (pictured) in the opening round of the Champion Stakes. Then we have six teams on 795 points with five of those from the one household.

The one concern for those near the top of the leaderboard is that they may not have too many runners at the Irish Cup meeting and will be relying on results to fall right for them. It remains to be seen if the big names like Kyle Mozart, Skellig Shane, Blades Of Fire & Reikers Island are entered at Patrickswell. Other potential Cup entries in those top teams include Floating Victor, Ballygerald Buzz, Domain King, Wi Can Riki, For The Parish, Kyle Alex, Chicago Shuffle & Wiseguy Mark. With Dicks Bimbo & Bexhill Anna unlikely to reappear our leaders will be hoping Finn Dancer or Jumeirah Glory can pick up points for them. However with well over 120 selections within 100 points of the leaders and 285 points available to be won on the last weekend of the season this competition is set for a thrilling finale.

In the Fantasy Coursing for Charity competition our players have slipped out of contention for the big prize of €5,000 as none of them had both Kyle Mozart & Dicks Bimbo in their selection. However there is still a fantastic €1,000 to be won for one charity thanks to our sponsor. Back leading this race is Caoimhe Cullen of Carlow CC with 630 points and Caoimhe will be hoping to see the likes of Wheres Mr Wilks and Touch Of Class appear in the draw next Sunday night. Hot on her heels are Shane Curtin and Mary Guiney.
